The Osteria dell'Isola is a modern reinterpretation of what was for many years a historic " refreshment point " for wayfarers and travellers, with a bar and restaurant near the mountain lake of Isola Santa.
This mountain garrison gradually lost its appeal over time, until it was closed, only to then return to activity thanks to the growing tourist interest in the area and the Garfagnana in general.
In July 2018, our family decided to take over the historic business, along the panoramic road that in more or less 50 minutes connects the mountains and greenery of Garfagnana with the sea of Versilia.
After the renovation of the premises, with new facilities, equipment and management, the historic Osteria has resumed its useful and truly suggestive role in the splendid environmental context of the Apuan Alps Park.
It is important to remember that we are located right above the ancient village of houses on the shore of the mountain lake of Isola Santa Garfagnana, one of the most loved, photographed and posted online places in the region.
Our commitment has been and continues to be reflected in the favorable reception of passing customers and the increase in tourists on holiday and mountain enthusiasts on weekends.
Features of the place:
Informal atmosphere, farmhouse restaurant, home cooking, country bread, handmade pasta, delicious grilled meats, high quality and home -made. Homemade desserts and ample use of typical seasonal products from the Garfagnana area and a good selection of wines from the Lucca area and beyond.
In the summer you can taste the famous rainbow and brown trout, caught in the lake.
