Garfagnana is a beautiful and lush valley thanks to its microclimate. It's a challenging land from an agricultural standpoint, but its tenacious inhabitants have, since time immemorial, succeeded in selecting crops and fruit trees that are uniquely adapted to the habitat.
So much so that some typical products, the fruit of man's hard work, have obtained official IGP recognition, in addition to those that nature offers spontaneously here, including the famous porcini mushrooms of Garfagnana, blueberries and raspberries.
In the torrential waters you can fish for Rainbow Trout - Brown Trout, a particularly popular species.
Ismaele, our father, once a butcher and farmer, expertly raises cattle, pigs, sheep, and goats. These animals are kept virtually free, free, and untouched by the torture of caged life—a far cry from the factory farms we totally disapprove of.
Despite the many demands of a farm, we never run out of delicious potato bread baked in a wood-fired oven! We also make jams made with fruit produced on the farm. Delicious biscuits, including chestnut ones, which are not only appreciated by our guests but have also won the 2nd National Award for " Castelnuovo Città della Castagna" (Castelnuovo, City of the Chestnut ). To round out our offerings, but only for space reasons, are fabulous tarts and biscotti, delicacies lovingly prepared by our mother Cinzia, with the help of all of us in harvesting the fruit.
